We would like to formally introduce you to The Hidden Gem Event Venue (formerly Charlar Place)!
While the business is new, the venue itself has been around for decades, hosting hundreds of important events for individuals throughout the state of Michigan and beyond.
Our experienced staff is committed to continuing in that legacy,
hosting events that exceed our guests' expectations. Excellence is always our goal.
Please feel free to navigate our new site, and contact us with any comments, questions or concerns.
We welcome your feedback.
The Hidden Gem is now open and currently booking events
for late 2020 and all of 2021!
We are scheduling in-person meetings and tours at this time. Masks and social distancing are required indoors. We are also continuing to schedule virtual tours for those who request that method.
We do not currently have regular office hours.
Meetings and tours are by appointment only.
Please feel free to give us a call or submit any inquiries via our contact page.
For those who are interested in booking an event with us, we are currently following EXECUTIVE ORDER No. 2020-183 from Governor Whitmer:
"Most non-residential indoor venues can host social gatherings and organized events so long as they maintain fewer than 20 people per 1,000 square feet... Outdoor gathering and event restrictions will also be relaxed, so long as they maintain fewer than 30 people per 1,000 square feet, or 30% seating capacity..."
Beginning October 8, 2020:
Per this executive order, not including staff, The Hidden Gem can safely host events of up to 50 people indoors and up to 100 outdoors (spread out between the terrace and garden).
Masks are required indoors unless seated or eating.
Masks are required outdoors where social distancing is not possible. All tables will be spaced six feet apart for your safety and convenience. Tents are required in case of inclement weather and are an additional cost.
We are continuing to do our part to ensure the health and safety of our guests. We are constantly improving our cleaning and sanitizing policies as well as our safe food handling practices. We will not be the same after this pandemic.
We will be better.
